the blog, the re-blog, & my blog.
There’s a difference between blogging and re-blogging. I’ve noticed (and follow) several blogs that re-blog from different blogs (huh?). The ones I follow tend to have the same taste in art and style that I too would love to share with fellow bloggers, but in hindsight, I feel personally that this would be a big waste of my time, not that I don’t have any. I haven’t kept up with this blog mostly because I have nothing “fresh” to post, which would be my own photography and other random postings. But basically, I’m just fucking lazy. About a month or two ago, I borrowed two 35mm cameras from my boyfriend and decided, hey, this will give me some initiative to get back to what I like to do. So far, I’m still in the middle of my first roll. I don’t know what it is. Lack of subjects? Lack of enthusiasm? No motivation? A combination of everything. I also tend to start projects in my head that seem to never get started, or I update or follow up on, and thus turn immobile. Such as this blog… It was also about a month or two ago that I wanted to start a photo project revolved around the town of Ivanhoe. Why Ivanhoe? Because I know no one else will ever give so much attention to it. Too many people I know that live there loathe it. This is also the reason why I chose “Swamplands” as the title for this blog, to find some value in places and subjects that would otherwise be unvalued. I guess this project will answer that question, if it ever gets started… And although this hangover is not going anywhere anytime soon, I need to get started on this shit. Let’s start with finishing that $8 400 black and white roll.
